McElhenney has made no secret of his love for both NFL and baseball since taking over Wrexham with Hollywood star Ryan Reynolds back in November 2020. He said: "The people of Wrexham have shared with me their love of football and I had a great idea to share with them my love of baseball by bringing all the things I love about it to a Wrexham game…literally.
"It's a childhood dream to partner with Major League Baseball and share my love of America's Favorite Pastime with the world."
